Getting Started with AWS QuickSight

Learn the fundamentals of AWS QuickSight and how to create your first dashboard.

What is AWS QuickSight?

Amazon QuickSight is a cloud-powered business intelligence (BI) service that makes it easy to deliver insights to everyone in your organization. QuickSight connects to your data in the cloud and combines data from many different sources, allowing you to create stunning visualizations, perform ad-hoc analysis, and quickly get business insights from your data.

Setting Up Your First Dataset

QuickSight supports various data sources including Amazon S3, Amazon RDS, Amazon Redshift, and many more. You can also connect to on-premises databases through a VPC connection.

1. Navigate to Datasets → New Dataset
2. Select S3 as your data source
3. Upload your manifest file or specify S3 path
4. Preview and save your dataset

Creating Your First Visualization

Once your dataset is ready, you can start building visualizations. QuickSight offers a wide variety of chart types including bar charts, line charts, pie charts, scatter plots, heat maps, and more.
